Law Firm Website Design in Kenya: What Works

Most Kenyan law firm websites were built in 2014, are slow on mobile, and have no clear way to book a consultation. That is great news — because firms that fix it pull ahead instantly. This is the blueprint we use at Zalika Digital to design law firm websites that load fast, rank, and convert.

Part of our pillar guide: Market Your Law Firm in Kenya →

The structure that ranks and converts

A clean information architecture wins every time: Home, About, Practice Areas (one page per area), Team, Insights/Blog, Contact. Each practice area gets its own URL, its own H1, its own FAQs, and its own internal link to relevant blog posts.

    Speed is non-negotiable

Target a Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds on a Safaricom 4G connection. That means optimised images, minimal JavaScript, a fast Kenyan-friendly host or CDN, and a lean theme. Speed is both a Google ranking factor and a conversion factor.

    Trust signals above the fold

Years in practice, number of cases handled, LSK membership badge, named partners with bar photos, and visible review averages. A prospective client deciding between three firms picks the one that earns trust in the first five seconds.

    Conversion patterns that work

Two CTAs in the header: "Call Now" and "WhatsApp Us". A sticky WhatsApp button on mobile. A short consultation-booking form on every practice-area page (name, phone, brief description). Never make a prospective client hunt for the phone number.

    Content depth wins

Practice-area pages should be 800–1,500 words covering what the area is, when someone needs it, the legal framework in Kenya, what to expect from the process, indicative fees, and FAQs. Thin pages do not rank, no matter how well designed.

    Technical SEO baked in

Mobile-first responsive design, clean semantic HTML, schema markup (LegalService, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList), a generated sitemap.xml, and HTTPS everywhere. These are table stakes, not nice-to-haves.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a law firm website cost in Kenya?+
A professional, SEO-ready law firm website in Kenya costs KES 120,000–450,000 depending on the number of practice-area pages, custom design depth, and integrations like booking and live chat. Cheaper template sites usually need replacing within 18 months.
Should a Kenyan law firm use WordPress or a custom build?+
WordPress is the safest default — it is cost-effective, easy to update, and has strong SEO plugins. Custom builds on React or similar frameworks are worth it for larger firms wanting bespoke client portals or document automation.
How long does it take to build a law firm website?+
A focused build with 6–10 practice-area pages, blog, and on-page SEO takes 6–10 weeks from kickoff to launch, including copywriting and review cycles.
